1. Council of Architecture (COA)
The Council of Architecture in India is charged with the responsibility to regulate the education and practice of Architecture and its professionals throughout the country besides maintaining the register of architects. The Council of Architecture (COA) was constituted by the Government of India under the provisions of the Architects Act, 1972, enacted by the Parliament of India, which came into force on 1st September 1972. The Act provides for the registration of Architects, standards of education, recognized qualifications, and standards of practice to be complied with by the practicing architects.
2. Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID)
The Institute of Indian Interior Designers, also known as I.I.I.D, was founded in 1972 to establish good professional & trade practices and ethics amongst its members and to highlight and enhance the image of the Interior Design Profession and exchange know‐how with similar organizations within the country & abroad. 5. Institute of Urban Designers India (IUDI)
Institute of Urban Designers India (IUDI) is a national-level association of urban design professionals, academicians, and practitioners that came into being due to the present scenario of unprecedented growth and change across all levels of urban settlements, especially in our part of the world. The emerging directions of change and developmental choices as witnessed all around us today raise immense challenges and possibilities toward a dynamic and contributory role of the urban design profession within different societal conditions.
6. Institute of Town Planners India (ITPI)
The Institute of Town Planners, India, started as a small group of Town Planners in Delhi, who in 1947 decided to set up a professional Town Planning Institute on lines similar to the Royal Town Planning Institute, London. The aim of ITPI is to promote dynamic, inclusive, and integrated Town and Country planning practice, education, research, and institutional mechanism for vibrant, sustainable, and resilient spatial-economic development of towns, cities, and regions.
7. India Design Council (IDC)
India Design Council is an autonomous body of Government of India established under the aegis of Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry. It is a national strategic body for multi-disciplinary design and is involved in promotion of design to ultimately make India a design-enabled country. The India Design Council is spearheading the national design direction and is working with other government agencies, the design community, industry and education institutions to promote design in business, society and public services and developing design excellence.
